Because Joomla is extremely flexible in design and use, our process is a collaborative effort. You provide the vision and ideas and we provide the framework and structure. The process can be quick and simple for a basic website landing page or as complicated as an eCommerce site. The value in using Joomla as a platform for your online presence is that the core parts of Joomla are free open source files. The core Joomla installation will cost you nothing and you will own the core files to do with as you please.
There are thousands of extensions and components for Joomla that can add just about any function that you might need. Many of these components are also free open source additions. Many others are paid extensions that provide more specific functions that add value and they are generally very reasonable. It is possible to create a Joomla website that costs nothing more than the domain name and the hosting plan. Our fees for creating your site will vary based on the type of site and complexity.
To put a website online, you will need a domain name and a hosting provider. We do not provide either of those services. However, we have a relationship with a reliable hosting provider that can provide those services and do so at a very reasonable fee, usually under $50/year on a 3 year plan.
The process works like this:
- You Send us an email with a description of your project
- We evaluate the complexity of the project, make recommendations and give you a quote for the project. The quote may be an hourly rate or a flat fee.
- You can take care of the domain name and hosting services on your own, or we can refer you to our host partner and can facilitate your arrangement with them.
- If your request is for maintenance services for an existing JOOMLA site, our fee will be an hourly rate, again based on what services you need or a flat fee for specific services rendered.
- In all cases, you retain complete ownership of the Joomla core files and all additional extensions. You will have complete access to the server that hosts your site and complete administrator access to the back-end of your site.
- You will be solely responsible for payment of all subscription fees or update costs for any paid components of extensions installed on your site.
- If you choose to do your own maintenance of your site, you will have complete access to do that with no involvement from us.
We are extremely flexible in how we work together on your project. A website is not always just a cookie cutter site that goes up in a matter of hours. There are website companies that can do that and you can certainly avail yourself of them. What we do is build custom websites in a collaborative environment to create the website that YOU want!
